Packed up and ready to go

We are headed to Florida to visit with family! We haven't seen any of them since the start of COVID! My hubby does all the driving, so I get plenty of time to stitch my EPP blocks as well as hand quilt the blocks. I thought I would share what I bring with me, as I think I've got this stitching-on-the-go down to a science. I only need to take the items below to keep myself busy for a couple of weeks.

in the pink vinyl tote I have ten blocks prepared for hand quilting. They are all sandwiched with the batting and thread basted. I personally don't like to use safety pins for basting because my thread always gets caught on them. They all fit perfectly into this zippered vinyl tote. I included a pic of the label inside the tote in case you were wondering!

In the second vinyl tote I have my project work board and all my prepared pieces to EPP the six blocks that I have left to do. One is almost done, and the other five are all basted and ready to sew together.

And in the purple cosmetics case, made by Luxja, I have all my threads, thimbles, needles, scissors and miscellaneous supplies I may need. If you search on Amazon for 'Luxja' a wide variety of cases are available for everything from sewing supplies to sewing machines. Oh and one necessity for me is 'Icy Hot' pain cream that gets put onto my neck as I have recurring neck pain due to an old injury and it is often aggravated by hours of stitching. I love this roll on one as I don't get any on my hands when I apply it. The two headed light is meant to be used on music stands and clips nicely to my project work board. I was always frustrated with the lighting at other people's homes as well as in hotel rooms. My old eyes need the extra lighting!
